My biggest dream started in high school, when I accidentally found out that fashion is my passion. I was just interested in art and illustration before, but I feel like it was not enough, I am eager to manifest them. My first step in the fashion field is taking sewing and patterning course in Bunka School of Fashion Jakarta. At that moment, I had to manage both my academic and fashion education schedule well. It was not easy at first, but I improved day by day. This valuable experience taught me about always being patient and self-motivated. 

 

An exciting stage of self-exploration started in 2019, when I entered my first college life in Hong Kong Design Institute. I get to find my personal style and enthusiasm through continuous project and research. I produced a few collections, each of them has different inspiration but the essence of playfulness and surrealism remain as they become my unique approach. I am a creative thinker. I like to develop unique design feature which involve daily technology and make a playful yet mind blowing details. My objective is not only making an outfit, but a wearable art with philosophy and meaning. My design would work as a statement, as a media to speak and explain without words. I do not mind working overtime or thinking about inspirational ideas in my sleep. I always give my best effort on every project which then made me one of the best students in class. Moreover, I tend to keep my grade stable and remains 3.7/4.

 

Trying something new is always my thing. I expanded my design scope into footwear and became one of the children’s shoes finalist in the “19th Footwear Design Competition” held by the federation of Hong Kong Footwear LTD and HKTDC. Since then, I become enthusiast in accessories design too. Furthermore, in 2021 I also challenge myself to do internship as assistant designer in “TMS.SITE”, a start-up workwear brand from UK. There, I learnt how to produce a sportwear sample and operate some high technological machine. Therefore, after pursuing the bachelor degree, I would like to gain real time working experience in both small and big brand to learn different system and strategy to know how the industry works and the global market which is important to build my own brand in the future.

 

Tried different approach and possibility, I perceive that mix and match is a trial-and-error process to build an outstanding result. It leads my high interest into studio working-based learning as skills, research, real experience takes precedence. Nottingham University provide one of the best programme and facilities for this practical and experimental process. In my opinion, this kind of learning is effective to grow my talent and let me explore my strength and weakness.
